This page explains how Vertige Media uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies on vertigemedia.fr.
1. Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser. The website also uses sessionStorage and localStorage to keep certain information directly in your browser.
2. Storage used to operate the website
The Reader session uses a Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax cookie. It expires after thirty days of inactivity and cannot remain valid for more than one hundred eighty days. The Google sign-in flow uses a Secure, HttpOnly cookie limited to ten minutes. These cookies remain available when you reject optional statistics.
Your consent choice is stored without a user identifier under the vm:consent:v1 localStorage key for no more than one hundred eighty days. After you grant Statistics permission, a random Analytics visitor identifier remains available no longer than that consent period, while a session identifier is kept in sessionStorage with a thirty-minute inactivity timeout. Both keys are deleted as soon as you withdraw permission. Removing the Marketing category preserves your existing Statistics choice and its original expiry. A previous Marketing agreement does not authorize any new purpose.
3. Statistics
Vertige produces anonymous traffic statistics without cookies, browser storage, or persistent identifiers. It counts measured page loads and retains a random deduplication key for forty-eight hours. Daily aggregate statistics are retained long term.
With your Statistics permission, a separate measurement adds pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers, reading engagement, and strictly defined interactions. Collection stops as soon as permission is withdrawn. Detailed records are retained for no more than one hundred eighty days. This audience measurement does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Meta Pixel. The data collected for this measurement does not include email addresses, Reader account data, raw IP addresses, or raw User-Agent strings.
4. Embedded content
Players and embedded content from third-party services, including YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and some maps, are loaded after an action from you. Some thumbnails, including YouTube thumbnails on the Videos page, may be loaded from the provider as soon as the page is displayed. The YouTube player uses youtube-nocookie.com when that mode is available.
Your request to display external content is separate from the Statistics choice. The selected provider applies its own rules to the content you requested.
5. Managing your choices
On your first visit, you can accept or reject optional statistics, or review their purpose in Cookie settings. The Cookie settings link in the footer lets you change or withdraw your permission at any time. Anonymous statistics without trackers remain independent of this choice.
